Random Meet Ups!

So, throughout the past few days, I have been meeting up with a lot of people as I have been quite free after my submission, and I am happy to have caught up with a couple of people, such as S, MJ and also people from my past workplace!

I think the ultimate point of meeting up is really to catch up on how each other’s lives are going on, and when we reminisce about the past, you do realise that both parties do still treasure the times that we have had, and I think that is absolutely heartwarming.

I guess this month had been a month of revelation, and ultimately I need to know who are the ones I need to hold dear to, and for those people that I met up with, I am glad that they chose to have stayed in my life, and that’s what matters.

Majorlica Majorca Workshop

So, I received an invitation from Yvettia here to join her for a Majorlica Majorca (MJ) make up workshop because she had 2 slots, and hence extended the invitation to me. She knows that I’d like to learn some new tips in make up and hence thought it’d be a good chance to expose me to a fine make up brand!

So off I was, learning make up tips from make up artists in Shiseido, and also learning how to accentuate my features slightly better! I enjoyed the session as the coach was a really funny person, and he was really friendly and ready to provide tips other than the daily make up that he was coaching in that day!

So I got to try out a whole range of MJ products, and I loved their Mascara which really gave my eyes an extra oomph! Oh and their blusher also gave a really natural glow to my tanned skin! I think their products are really worth a try!

So I left a little bit more makeup knowledge, and also a door gift of their Lip Gloss collection, and a cupcake by their sponsor ^^

And after the session, I stepped into H&M for the first time in my lifeeeeee! 😀

Okay I’m a noob, but it’s because I don’t like to go town because there’s always a crazy amount of people. But still okay I got really excited going into H&M for the first time and there’s all these accessories and clothes that caught my eye! I think I really need a shopping trip there soon haha 😀

Right, that’s all for now! Really enjoyed the night out with her and I had a lot of fun catching up and chatting with her (: I can’t wait to meet up with her and the other 4U girls soon! ^^

Love, Vee ❤

Happy Valentine’s Day-Part 2

Hello there again! So for part two of my Valentine’s Day (which I celebrated on the day after), I submitted my research paper in school! Yay the feeling is extremely exilerating! ^^

And then, I met up with two of my favourite people in the world: YM and M! ^^

So as our dear YM is stuck all the way in in Pulau NTU, M and I took the train down to Boon Lay to meet that girl haha 😀

Took us a really long time to decide on having Thai Express hahaha, and I think I really should give Thai Express some credit, I didn’t realise how yummy Thai food can be. I always had an aversion to Thai food and I decided to give it a try heh (:

So, I always liked clear tom yum, and ordered for myself a Clear Tom Yum Hor Fun! (no photos again because of the memory card :<) It looked really harmless with the clear tom yum gravy, but the spicy kick was really strong and left a strong flavour after the meal. I think it’s going to be my new favourite Thai food from Thai Express now haha 😀

And the ravenous trio continued on with HK desserts at Ji De Chi at the Market Place in JP and they have my favourite Yam Paste! ^^

It wasn’t too sweet, and the portion just right, just the way I like it (:

And with all the catch ups and all, it was time to say byebye because the silly girl had a presentation the next day ):

Love you babe! ❤

Happy Valentine’s Day-Part 1

Hello there, how did you spend your Valentine’s Day? (:

I spent 3 days with 3 different people for Vday meetups and I missed them so much!

Meetup #1: Wifey J!

Caught up with her before I went to Malaysia, and we went to Cafe Cartel because we really love the food there! So, for the two of us, we shared an Oriental Chicken Salad, with Herb and Vinaigrette Dressing (for her) and Thousand Island Dressing (for me), with a St Louis Baby Pork Ribs, and topped it up with a Soup of The Day, Garlic Bread and Drinks! It came up to $34.40 after GST for us, and I guessed it was a good deal because it was really filling (:

Oriental Chicken Salad ($11.80++)

St Louis Baby Pork Ribs ($14.80++)

And you just have to top up another $3.90++ for the soup, bread and drink, quite a deal eh? (:

I loved the salad because they were absolutely fresh and yummy with the sesame dressing for the chicken, and the ribs were cooked such that the meat separated easily from the bones. Succulent meat and the tangy dressing made the meal a really satisfying one!

These two items made up the must-eats in Cafe Cartel, do try these two items if you’re going there! 😀

And presenting to you, my pretty Wifey! ^^

Meetup #2: baby J!

Met up with baby J at Cartel again hahah! It was a last minute decision and we just decided to pop in there without any reason haha. So I was trying to decide what to eat, and decided on a Pan Fried Linguine (no photos because my Memory Card was corrupted 😥 gahh) with the top up again.

The linguine was basically similar to an aglio olio with sauteed mushrooms and succulent chicken, and I liked it pretty much! However, nothing still beats the pork ribs heh!

Spent the hour with baby J as my Valentine’s before heading home to continue my date with my research paper! (: Love you girl, and thanks for the present!

Impromptu getaway with the Mom!

Sorry for the short hiatus, my research paper has been driving me crazy and left me with little time to blog and here I am with my little escapades with everyone! (:

Mom decided to take me to Malaysia with her for this annual praying trip that she goes to since my dad wasn’t feeling too good and Mom wanted some company. So… chucking my research paper aside, I agreed to go on the trip with her for some mother-daughter bonding and a tiny getaway!

Okay so the bulk of the trip was spent on the coach sleeping, but while we were off the coach, it was nice to catch a little rustic part of Malaysia!

First Stop: At this market area off JB!

These dogs were really circling me around and they were really friendly and cute! Heh (:

And of course, some fresh durians which were finger-licking good ^^

Second Stop: Malacca’s Lim Kee Claypot BKT!

I didn’t manage to catch any pictures of the BKT because I was too hungry and forgot to take pictures -.- Oh wells, but I loved the BKT because its meat fell off the bones easily as they were really tender, and the soup was sweet and rich from all the goodness of the herbs.

3rd Stop: Jonker Walk at Malacca

I don’t think we do see this around in Singapore, but this is a stone carving industry in Malaysia, and the whole layout looks like a setting from an ancient street you see in Chinese period dramas! Too bad we were there too early and couldn’t see more :/

And of course, a nice little cuppa Hainanese (did I mention that I am a Hainanese? heh.) coffee in a real rustic coffee shop (:

And with that, I conclude the end of my teeny-weeny getaway to Malaysia, and I can’t wait for more escapades hehheh (:

Change is the only Constant.

Disclaimer: This is just my thoughts about life now, I am not emo-ing, just doing a lot of thinking (:

I think it’s a period of time where everyone is starting to face the changes in their lives at this stage. As teenagers, or soon-to-be-adults, there are so many things that are about to change. Our education, our social life, our relationships, our commitments, there are so many things that are about to unfold before us, and there are many choices to make, and these choices may very well affect the rest of our lives at this point in our lives.

Take for example, university choices. It’s one of the biggest things that terrifies me now, because I cannot see where I will be in a few months’ time. In the past, I was able to project myself in a future environment because I can confidently decide where I will end up, and that is where my destination will be. However, I lost that confidence now, and I am not sure if I can move on in my ideal life that I have set for myself.

Another example, would be my friends I have now. We are all meeting other people in our own fields and environment that we are living in, and sometimes, when changes do arise, it is an all new definition of accepting and adapting, before getting used to it, before the cycle repeats itself, and it’s another round of adapting to the change again.

At the end of the day, I definitely hope that change is for the better, for myself, and for everyone around me. I may not be able to take charge of changes, but I can definitely take charge of my emotions at least. It is difficult, but it’s all in the learning process of growing up. I am still trying, and I guess I just need more time.

To everyone coping with change, I hope you are adapting well, and may whatever that comes along be for the better.

Love, Vee (:
