Some eggy love~

If you knew me, you’d know how much I love my eggs. Scrambled, Fried, Poached, Boiled, Steamed, you name it, I love it. Hahahahah.

So I visited Hatched with my babygirls in the previous week, and boy did we have to overcome some difficulties just to enjoy our eggs!

So first of all, we visited the Evans Lodge outlet, reaching around 5.45pm. We were pretty much drenched from the pouring rain, and were anxious to start eating. And guess what. The outlet was CLOSING. Apparently they changed their operating hours till 6pm, with the last order being at 430pm.

Well hunger and cold doesn’t go well together, so we thought of a contingency plan, which was to visit the second outlet at Holland V.

So when we visited Holland V, we couldn’t find the place because we were all strangers to the Holland V area, and were walking around with dysfunctional smart phone applications in our hands, trying to find our way. So yes, we finally found hatched. At 7pm.

It’s in like a pretty obscured area because there were some constructions going on and you wouldn’t be able to find it if you drove by, but I liked the place a lot. Wooden panels, hanging lights, it had a warm and homely feel to it (:

So check out what we ordered :>

The pretty menu!

The Catalog Of Eggs! :>

Clockwise from Top Left:

1. My Smoked Royale (2 eggs at $18.00++)

Two perfectly poached eggs on slices of smoked salmon and english muffin, with a side of mashed potatoes and greens topped with balsamic vinegar. The eggs were purr-fecttttt, and the whole combination of the hollandaise sauce, eggs, salmon and muffin was amazing in my mouth! YUMMEH 😀

2. HY’s The Sleepover ($12.00++)

It’s french toast with bananas and eggs, topped with sugary sweet maple sauce. Suitable for people with a sweet tooth!

3. WL’s Papillote ($16.00++)

Scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and toast, and sauteed potatoes. Their sauteed potatoes are really yummy when it’s piping hot!

4. VY’s Burly Benedict (2 eggs at $18.00++)

Poached Eggs atop of corned beef and English muffin, served with the greens and sauteed potatoes. It has a hearty serving, and suitable for people with a large appetite!

My food! Look how runny the yolk is, YUMMEHXZ. 😀

Verdict: 4/5

After a lovely dinner spent at HV, WL  drove us down to Yishun Dam for some chillax time. Visit there if you’re looking for a place to chill. Just don’t wear a skirt or dress because you need to stride across a fence to sit down near the reservoir. Heh.  It’s a really quiet place because there are few people that goes there, and just loved how much I could talk to these girls. (:
Anyway, Thank you girls for such an awesome night ❤

2 movies in 3 days!

Finally managed to catch 2 of the shows I’ve been wanting to watch in the cinemas after a long time of not visiting the theatres, and I am happy that they were two very good movies. 😀

The Lucky One

So on Friday, I managed to catch The Lucky One with SM since it was her off day and we were both romantic movie junkies.

I liked the rhythm of the movie, it was slow, yet not draggy. I enjoyed the picturesque setting of the movie, with many adorable dogs that made me smile throughout the movie. You could see how much Zac Efron had outgrown his childish demeanor from the High School Musical Series, and settling to be a struggled veteran from the Marines.

Don’t expect too much from the movie, just sit back and relax, you’ll find yourself enjoying the movie a lot more than you thought you would have. (:

Verdict: 3.5/5

And the second movie caught was the blockbuster of the year that I had been DYING to catch since Captain America: The First Avenger concluded last year! Guessed it yet? 😀

The Avengers! 😀

After waiting for almost 9 months, the Avengers movie’s finally released and indeed it was thrilling and exciting with the Avengers assembling for this movie! If you have watched Iron Man 1/2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor and Captain America, you will find the movie coming to a full circle, and linking post-credits scenes of the movies stated. Not gonna spoil the movie here, go catch it yourself!

What’s really great about the movie was really about the humour weaved in the scenes that will send you laughing out really loud in the cinema, and also cute eye candy too ^^

Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye 😀

Best part of it, I managed to catch in IMAX 3D.

Now, many people would ask, why would I pay 2 to 3 times more than the usual price of a ticket just for the IMAX 3D effects. I’m going to explain it here!

1) The clarity of the movie

When you watch movies in 2D, more than often, you can see the cinematic film roll effect on the screen, with a little yellowing and all, with black spots appearing. This does not happen in IMAX 3D

2) ‘In-Your-Face’ 3D Effects

When you watch Digital 3D movies, the items in 3D merely pop a little, some people often feel that the effect was barely noticeable. However, in IMAX 3D, it does feel as if you are in the scene, and also you can feel that the characters really POP out of the screen.

Try it someday. Really. For a good action flick. I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Verdict: 4/5!

Prolly gonna catch the movie again soon, and looking forward to the IMAX 3D movies that are going to be released soon! (:

First night adventure with the babygirls <3

I’m starting to appreciate the growing number of friends who can drive, because we can go to less inaccessible places at later timings, and enjoy awesome food at incredible prices 😀

So the babygirls and the respective boyfs all met up for awesome Porridge Buffet Supper, all thanks to WL driving us there!

First of all, the price is incredible. For $11.80++ on weeknights (after 10.30pm), you get to enjoy a great Teochew Porridge buffet with a rather good selection of sides to go with the pasty porridge. There’s fish, pork, curry chicken, braised taupok and eggs, duck, salted vegetables and all, that goes extremely well with the sweet potato porridge. There were also plenty of condiments to choose from, preserved seaweed, chye sim, pork floss and many more. Oh, and there was also my favourite szechuan soup with duck! (I LOVE SOUPS.)

See how much minced meat WL and R took! 😛

There’s ice cream and ice kachang too for a sweet touch for the end of the meal 😀

Well, needless to say, we all went home with full and satisfied bellies with a supper like this (:

Still, if you are an ‘ambience’ person, you probably won’t enjoy this place very much because of the lousy singing in the piano lounge right beside the restaurant. The service was so-so, I had to ask the waiter to clear my plate for me because he seemed to be dozing off.

It was also great to have supper with the girls, and their boyfs of course (: Nice catching up and just hanging out and having loads and loads of fun 😀

We had fun, didn’t we? 😀

Looking forward to our next few outings! ❤

Long time no see, my friends.

Finally got the chance to meet up with the tension girls over dinner on Friday, and at the same time I was able to satisfy my ramen craving at Ramen Play @ Junction 8!

Ordered a Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen, I love my ramen spicy and soupy, absolutely delish and it definitely hit all the right spots! 😀

Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen $10.90++

They even have the tamago (the braised egg) with a slight runny centre, exactly the way I like it 😀 The soup base was rich yet non over-powering, and the noodles were really bouncy too! I think I found my new favourite ramen heehee 😀

And you should totally ask the waiters for the chilli chives, they really add an extra kick to the meal and a good company to the ramen! The waiters are all really chirpy and polite, it was genuinely a good dining experience (:

It reads, 2LT Ong Sheng Jie Clement with a Dog and a Badge hahahahha 😛

And of course, my wifey J and A who came down to pick HT up!

Finally got to see C after 7 months in UK! Hehehe, glad he liked the hum chim peng I bought  😀

Then we also drew some awesome doodles while picking SJ up…

Hehheh, happy to see so many people over the weekend (: And happy that everyone came home, safe and sound (:

P.S: Yay cute soldier bear and tons of postcards from Europe from C! Thank you soooooo much! ❤

Alright, tata for now, byebye 😀

Happy Valentine’s Day-Part 2

Hello there again! So for part two of my Valentine’s Day (which I celebrated on the day after), I submitted my research paper in school! Yay the feeling is extremely exilerating! ^^

And then, I met up with two of my favourite people in the world: YM and M! ^^

So as our dear YM is stuck all the way in in Pulau NTU, M and I took the train down to Boon Lay to meet that girl haha 😀

Took us a really long time to decide on having Thai Express hahaha, and I think I really should give Thai Express some credit, I didn’t realise how yummy Thai food can be. I always had an aversion to Thai food and I decided to give it a try heh (:

So, I always liked clear tom yum, and ordered for myself a Clear Tom Yum Hor Fun! (no photos again because of the memory card :<) It looked really harmless with the clear tom yum gravy, but the spicy kick was really strong and left a strong flavour after the meal. I think it’s going to be my new favourite Thai food from Thai Express now haha 😀

And the ravenous trio continued on with HK desserts at Ji De Chi at the Market Place in JP and they have my favourite Yam Paste! ^^

It wasn’t too sweet, and the portion just right, just the way I like it (:

And with all the catch ups and all, it was time to say byebye because the silly girl had a presentation the next day ):

Love you babe! ❤

Happy Valentine’s Day-Part 1

Hello there, how did you spend your Valentine’s Day? (:

I spent 3 days with 3 different people for Vday meetups and I missed them so much!

Meetup #1: Wifey J!

Caught up with her before I went to Malaysia, and we went to Cafe Cartel because we really love the food there! So, for the two of us, we shared an Oriental Chicken Salad, with Herb and Vinaigrette Dressing (for her) and Thousand Island Dressing (for me), with a St Louis Baby Pork Ribs, and topped it up with a Soup of The Day, Garlic Bread and Drinks! It came up to $34.40 after GST for us, and I guessed it was a good deal because it was really filling (:

Oriental Chicken Salad ($11.80++)

St Louis Baby Pork Ribs ($14.80++)

And you just have to top up another $3.90++ for the soup, bread and drink, quite a deal eh? (:

I loved the salad because they were absolutely fresh and yummy with the sesame dressing for the chicken, and the ribs were cooked such that the meat separated easily from the bones. Succulent meat and the tangy dressing made the meal a really satisfying one!

These two items made up the must-eats in Cafe Cartel, do try these two items if you’re going there! 😀

And presenting to you, my pretty Wifey! ^^

Meetup #2: baby J!

Met up with baby J at Cartel again hahah! It was a last minute decision and we just decided to pop in there without any reason haha. So I was trying to decide what to eat, and decided on a Pan Fried Linguine (no photos because my Memory Card was corrupted 😥 gahh) with the top up again.

The linguine was basically similar to an aglio olio with sauteed mushrooms and succulent chicken, and I liked it pretty much! However, nothing still beats the pork ribs heh!

Spent the hour with baby J as my Valentine’s before heading home to continue my date with my research paper! (: Love you girl, and thanks for the present!

That’s it, I’m signing off for my Part 1 of Vday! Stay tuned for Part Two ^^

Crashing Mom and Dad’s anniversary date!

27th Jan was my mom and dad’s 21st wedding anniversary, and they invited me to go along on a date with them because I had nothing to do on a Friday night. (sad eh? LOL.)

We went to watch We Not Naughty together (my treat as a little gift for them hehheh) after we decided that there was nothing better to do in Yishun haha.

Truth is, it was better than what I had expected from the typical Jack Neo movie, albeit the lousy editing. Front part of the movie was more or less confusing, but the underlying themes were brought out towards the end of the movie and it was pretty typical and funny! However I didn’t enjoy having Daniel Chan trying to speak in English, it sounded too unnatural. Loved the little boy who acted as Ah Bao too, he was too adorable to miss!

All in all, it is a pretty okay movie, suitable for the family and good laughs as well 😀 Do catch it if you’re looking for something for the whole family!

Verdict: 3/5

P.S: Happy 21st Wedding Anniversary to Mom and Dad! ❤
